Join us for a 2-day intensive workshop where you'll reclaim essential skills for physiological twin birth.

The Skills Gap in Modern Midwifery

Twin births and breech births are extraordinary moments that deserve skilled, confident support. Yet as childbirth has become increasingly medicalised, the hands-on knowledge to support these births physiologically has been disappearing from practice. How many twin births outside of a labour ward have you attended?

More women and families are choosing to birth their twin babies physiologically, but practitioners often lack the training to support them with confidence.

It's Time to Bridge This Gap

Equip yourself with practical, evidence-based skills that honour physiological birth while ensuring safety and true informed choice for women and families.

This workshop will help you:

  • Build genuine confidence so that you can support twin pregnancies and births from a place of trust and not fear.
  • Develop hands-on competence for physiological twin birth scenarios, so that you can provide the best support to the families you serve.
  • Keep these essential skills alive in your practice and community, so that women and families continue to have real choice about how they birth their babies.
  • Build your knowledge and understanding of the unique considerations of twin pregnancy and birth, so that you can support women and birthing people whatever path they take - whether that's a home birth, a hospital birth or a planned caesarean birth.

Who This Workshop Is For

This training is designed for:

  • Independent Midwives
  • Midwives (hospital and community)
  • Doulas
  • Birthkeepers
  • Anyone who works closely with pregnant women (e.g. osteopaths, bodyworkers)

Whether you're new to these births or wanting to refresh your skills, you'll leave feeling prepared and empowered.

Why This Matters Now

Women are making informed choices about how they birth and should be supported in doing so. They're seeking practitioners who can support those choices with skill, not fear. Whilst medical input can be useful during pregnancy, we're not seeing improved outcomes with the blanket medicalisation of childbirth. By not treating women as individuals, we're disempowering them, restricting their choices and potentially affecting the health of them and their babies. When you have the knowledge and confidence to support twin births physiologically, you become an invaluable resource for families, and help preserve vital birthing wisdom for future generations of midwives, doulas and birth keepers.

Meet Your Facilitator: Debs

Debs brings a rare combination of depth and breadth to this training, rooted in both NHS and independent practice, enriched by decades of hands-on experience with twin and breech births.

Her Journey:

  • Former UK registered midwife, now holistic birthkeeper.
  • 30 years practicing in the UK and internationally.
  • Co-creator of Da-a-Luz Traditional Partera School in Spain.
  • Facilitator of Birth Magic Workshops throughout Europe.

Trained by the Best:

Debs has learned directly from the pioneers who've kept these skills alive:

  • Mary Cronk
  • Jane Evans
  • Ina May Gaskin
  • Michel Odent
  • Frank Louwen
  • Breech Birth Network
  • Breech Without Borders

What makes this workshop special?

Debs doesn't just teach theory from textbooks. She shares real wisdom gained from supporting countless twin and breech families. The insights, the nuances, the practical knowledge that only comes from being present at these births.

This is living knowledge, passed down and proven in practice.

Join us for this rare opportunity to learn from someone who has dedicated their career to supporting twin and breech births.

Important:

To join this workshop, if you're a midwife who will potentially be providing hands-on clinical support for twin births you'll need recent breech birth training or experience.

This includes:

  • Recent breech birth training (such as OptiBreech or Breech Without Borders).
  • OR recent in-depth self-taught knowledge and experience of breech births.

This foundation ensures we can dive deep into twin-specific skills and nuances, building on your existing breech competency.

It's common for at least one twin to be breech, so if you're supporting twin births you need to be confident in supporting physiological breech birth too. Debs will be providing a breech refresher, but not full breech training as this would require an extra two days!

New to breech?

Consider completing breech training first, then join us for this specialised twin workshop.

Why are Juno Midwives hosting a twin workshop? One of us had twins and we both realised how little we knew about twin births and pregnancies beyond what our medical model of training had taught us. We've since heard of more twin families choosing to home birth and realised there's a gap in midwifery knowledge that needs filling so that we can support these families.
